Goodbye 2025

It was EXHAUSTING!

It’s the last day of 2025, and I’m definitely ready for next year to begin. It was one of the longest years with such huge changes in our family. Our youngest child finishing high school, her high school graduation, the work of getting our home ready for her grad party, our “last” summer with her at home, then moving her off to TEXAS. We’re still tired just thinking about all of it.

Add to that, growing and building my web design/management/coaching business, while trying to keep a brick and mortar shop going… and then giving up and closing said shop, while also dealing with a-fib and high heart rate for four months. What in the actual what was this year??

It was Amazing!

Even while letting go of the shop, it’s been an AMAZING year for the business. I looked back over notes and details, and realized I worked on over 30 websites this year – designing or re-designing! I currently have 10 recurring blog / business management clients (woohoo!), and have several new projects and collaborations in the works. I am writing a SECOND e-book about blogging – this time about blogging your life stories. (The first e-book, Blogging for Makers and Creatives, can be found HERE), and I’m writing three memoirs in my spare time. (One is my story, and the other two are my grandmothers’ stories). I’m also creating space for new hobbies like watercolor painting and learning to draw on an iPad. (My artist kiddo is going to give me lessons!)

Yes, 2025 has been QUITE A YEAR.

With all the ups and downs, the one thing I do know about this year is…we made it. We got through, and had some pretty sweet moments amidst the moments of stress and worry and heartache. My physical heart has been back in regular rhythm for almost a month now, and I’m feeling a tiny bit better every day.

On to 2026…

I’ve been mulling and praying and thinking about what my new word for 2026 might be… and I’m thinking “FLOURISH”. Is that asking for trouble? I’m ready for our entire family to FLOURISH in mental, phyiscal and spiritual health. I’m ready for my physical health to begin to FLOURISH. I’m ready for the business to continue and grow and FLOURISH. And I’m ready to find contentment when the flourishing is slower than I want it to be.

Thankful and Prayerful

I’m sitting in total thankfulness for all the ways God provided for us this year, provided for the car repairs (so many car repairs), provided safety for our kids on the roads and far away from us, provided for the roof over our head and the food on our table. I’m also sitting in prayer, asking if 2026 could be slightly more calm than 2025 was. I’m praying for calm and peace and no more car repairs (!), and for even more calm and peace.

And whatever it brings, I know God will be there, right in the thick of it with us.

Here’s to 2026!!
